Player Worlds and SandboX
Your own virtual world, visiting other worlds, world rules, Happy Hour and the SandboX scripting tool.
The game has many virtual worlds. Players in different worlds can't see each other, their vehicles or their streamed objects. Everyone starts in the main world (VW 0).
Your Player World
Every player has their own world.
/myworldtakes you to your Player World./joinworld <player>visits someone else's world (unless they locked it)./lockworldlocks or unlocks your world./leaveworld(or/mainworld,/exitmyworld) brings you back to the main world./svw <world>takes you to any virtual world by number (0 = the main world)./playerworldhelp(/pwh) explains all of this in game.
An empty world, or the main world's maps
A Player World starts empty: none of the main world's maps, only the city itself. The SA-MP buildings that replace removed GTA buildings stay, so nothing has holes in it.
/mainworldobjects (/mwo) shows the main world's maps in your Player World, for you and your visitors. Type it again and it's empty again.
These are the same objects, not copies, so the server doesn't get any more of them. A map loaded for every world is switched off for whoever stands in an empty Player World. A main-world-only map gets your world added to its worlds while /mwo is on.
When you leave the server, your world is empty again for the next player who gets your player ID.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/myworld | Go to their own Virtual World (1000 + playerid) |
/joinworld | Visits another player's Player World and joins their SandboX game in progress: /joinworld [player ID] |
/lockworld | Meant to lock your Player World against visitors (today it ends unlocked) |
/leaveworld /mainworld | Takes you from a Player World back to the main world (VW 0) |
/exitmyworld | Exit from their own Virtual World (back to VW 0) |
/gvw /getvw /getvirtualworld /svw /setvw /setvirtualworld | Get the specified players virtual world number (or their own if they don't specify an id or name) |
/mainworldobjects /mwo | Your Player World shows the main world's maps, or is empty again (it starts empty; the same objects, nothing is copied) |
/playerworldhelp /pwh /pworldhelp | The Player World help: /myworld, /joinworld, /lockworld, /leaveworld, /mwo, /worldrules, /happyhour, SandboX |
World rules and Happy Hour
The main world has no restrictions: every vehicle can be spawned there. Restrictions are only ever the owner's choice, in their own world: you in your Player World, or a party leader in their Party World.
/worldrulespicks the vehicles that can't be spawned in your world. A driver in a restricted vehicle is taken out of it./happyhour [minutes]starts a Happy Hour: the restrictions are lifted in your world for a while (no minutes = until you turn it off)./hhhexplains Happy Hour.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/wrules /worldrules | - |
/hh /happyhour | - |
/hhh /happyhourinfo /happyhourhelp | Displays information about Happy Hour to the player in a dialog box |
SandboX
The full SandboX guide is on its own page: sandbox.
SandboX is a scripting tool that lets you create functions in the game, inside your own Player World.
- When a SandboX set is activated, channel 0 is called, and every function in channel 0 runs.
- You can give functions conditions. A condition calls another channel when it is met, and every function in that channel runs.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/SandboX | Enter or exit SandboX mode (in your Player World) |
/Function [Type] [Channel] | Create a function |
/FunctionTypes | The list of function types |
/Condition [Function ID] [Channel] | Create a condition |
/ConditionTypes | The list of condition types |
/SaveSandboXSet | Save your SandboX set |
/sandboxhelp shows the SandboX help.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/sandbox | In your Player World: opens the Choose SandboX Option menu (Create SandboX Set / Load SandboX Set), or asks to exit if you have a set loaded |
/sandboxhelp | Shows the SandboX Help box: how channels, functions and conditions work, and the main commands |
/savesandboxset /savesxs /ssxs | Saves the SandboX set you are editing under a new file name (an existing file is never overwritten) |
/loadsandboxset /loadsxs /lsxs | Loads a SandboX set in your Player World, in active mode (play it) or editing mode (build); Hosts in the main world load it for everyone |
